When you have to plan a vacation in a place you have never been before, you wonder what the climate is like.
Once you have booked your trip, you always have the anxiety of not finding the climate you had hoped for when you chose the hotel.
It happens to everyone.
Nowadays it is very easy to get information and you can know for example "when to go to San Vito Lo Capo”.
We live in this beautiful town of Western Sicily for all the year.
We know what is the best time for a walk by the sea, to make the first - or the last - swim in the beautiful waters of our beach, to discover the Zingaro Nature Reserve.
Our town is a small fishing village set on a turquoise bay, on a sea full of colors; it is located between two nature reserves: the Riserva dello Zingaro and that of Monte Cofano.
White and low houses, bougainvillea and hibiscus and palm trees are the perfect setting for beautiful holidays.
From our Hotel in a few minutes you will come across many beautiful shops and shops selling various typical products and souvenirs of San Vito and Sicily in general, such as Sicilian ceramics, sweets, but also “arancine” and “pane cunzato”.
We are very lucky to live here and to have the sun for about all year.
Now we will try to give you some more information to help you make a decision and finally get you to this much loved town of the Province of Trapani.
Let's start from the end of the year: in November there are sunny days!
The temperatures are really very good (20/25 degrees!), so the last passionate tourists go to the beach to tan or even do some quick swims, taking beautiful photographs to post on and Social and to send to friends and relatives left at home.
December, January and February are the coldest, wettest and windiest months of the year.
March and April are more suitable for a first holiday by the sea because in Spring the days are longer and sunny than in winter.
We advise you to pack a swimsuit, t-shirts and sunglasses as well as a jacket for when you go to visit Erice, the medieval town overlooking Trapani and Egadi islands.
This is a wonderful time when temperatures are around 20 degrees. In spring, many tourists love to take a bike ride along the promenade or to sunbathe on the beach.
May is the month of the Festival degli Aquiloni (Kite Festival) that you can enjoy from 21th May to 24th May.
It is a time of joyful entertainment for children but also relaxing for the adults
“Festival degli Aquiloni” in San Vito Lo Capo is a simple way to share of friendship and tolerance values. The kite enthusiasts will perform on the beautiful beach of San Vito Lo Capo.
Many of our regular guests come to San Vito Lo Capo in May because the temperatures are very enjoyable.
The sea water is still a little cool (around 15 - 17 degrees) but the uncrowded beach invites you to swim.
In April and May we suggest to dedicate your days to the Monte Monaco Reserve (the mountain that dominates the bay of San Vito Lo Capo) and to leave also for an adventure in Monte Cofano; climbers on the other hand will already know the Calamancina Cliffs.
You should therefore have at least 4 or 5 days in order to take full advantage of all the sunny days.
June is even more enjoyable than May: temperatures reach 30 degrees!
It is no coincidence that this is the month that many love, as they start the first organized excursions by boat for the Zingaro Nature Reserve.
We always suggest a minimum stay of 7 nights: there are a lot of beautiful sunny days, you can stay on the beach, enjoy fantastic boat trips - personalized or with other people - but also visit the neighboring places like Erice, Segesta, Marsala and reach Favignana, one of the Egadi islands.
The hottest months of the summer are July and August, where diving in the crystal clear water of our sea is a great relief!
The temperatures in fact easily reach 40 degrees!
This is one of the reasons why San Vito Lo Capo is in great demand in this part of the summer.
In September it is not as hot as in August, but here it is not the end of Summer as you may think.
The temperatures are similar to those of June: there are fantastic sunny days and in addition the most beloved Sanvitesi event: the Cous Cous Fest which takes place uninterruptedly here in San Vito Lo Capo since 1998.
Cous Cous is a North African dish and can be made with meat and vegetables, but here tradition has it that it is prepared with fish.
It is a dish that for us is synonymous with family that requires a lot of love and a long preparation and that you can find in all the restaurants.
We are now describing October.
Perhaps you think that it is not a month suitable for a holiday in Sicily because you think of autumn and that even here there are very bad rainy days.
Nothing could be more wrong!
Last October here in San Vito Lo Capo it was really hot, it seemed to be still full summer, not in autumn!
The mild climate and the warm sun of this period are ideal for sunbathing and discovering hidden corners or to learn more about our area, which is rich in history and views that will make your holiday unique, creating thousands of beautiful memories.
As written about the spring months, we recommend an adventure in Monte Monaco and Monte Cofano and climbing in Macari and at the Calamancina cliffs.
San Vito Lo Capo is beautiful in every month of the year: there is always something to do, to see.
